First Group Script Reading

Sep. 19th, 2006 | 02:32 am

Tonight we had our first official cast script read with a good portion of our actors. It was an overwhelmingly positive experience to say the least. The chemistry between the characters was amazingly natural, especially between Josh and Jewelz as Logan and Jean. And Jeff Kern just blew us all away with his performance as Professor Charles Xavier. Everyone just did an awe-inspiring job. The script was finally given a breath of life tonight.

There's of course some things to rough out and work on, but for an initial readthrough things came together very nicely. The direction this film is going is bound to move true fans profoundly.

Logan's new look

Sep. 17th, 2006 | 04:29 pm

We recently gave our Logan a character makeover, changing primarily the hairstyle. Originally we were going with the classic comic, Hugh Jackman style. But we really want to pull the character off as a real person, and the classic hairstyle looks very contrived, especially in person. We want to give the impression that his hair naturally grows into the shape it forms, and (even though we do use them) that there's no product in the hair.

So we dived into a bunch of Wolvie comics and otherwise, and arrived at another solution. It's the version you've seen in some of the newer comics where his hair is a tad bangy in front and slighty wings up in the very back. It's in the range of Ultimate X-Men, and maybe even sort of X-Men: Evolution. It most closely resembles the style seen in the video game Marvel Alliance.

We are getting some fan resistance, but mostly support, on the subject. Just keep in mind that this is our own take on the character, and furthermore we don't want to do the same old thing that's being done in other films. It would almost be redundant to go down the same road as everything else. You want to see something original, you want to a Wolverine movie unlike any other? You got it. This is one small part of that equation.

Jean: Casted

Sep. 16th, 2006 | 06:25 am

We casted our new Jean Grey this evening. We were so impressed by this actress that we cancelled the next few meetings we had lined up and hired her over the phone a few hours after the audition/interview.

The role of Jean Grey will be portrayed by Jewelz Abott.

A few things

Sep. 15th, 2006 | 09:09 am

We have a near certain candidate for Cyclops, but it's not set in stone. If you're interested in the role please contact us. Just know that we are presently very close to offering this person the role. We'll update if we cast the part.

We are meeting another actress for the role of Jean Grey on Friday. We'll let you know how that goes.

Walter Tinsley (Deadland) has left the production team to pursue a further education opportunity. The movie will now be helmed exclusively by Nu Blood Productions.

Well we have a few prospective Jean Greys lined up, which is good. We're meeting one of them in the next couple days. Unfortunately we are most definately going to have to end up recasting Cyclops. It's a shame though, because we were really enthusiastic about Jym Pagel playing the role.

Well, we've gotten several responces from potentials Jeans. Unfortunately many of them are from too outside the area. We haven't been in touch with a few of them yet, but some seem probable. We'll try to touch base with everyone soon.

Update 1

Aug. 4th, 2006 | 12:18 pm

I'm not going to lie, we're a little bit behind. But production is still fairly smooth. However, we should have started filming weeks ago.

All is in order for the most part. Our one major delay is our needing to recast "Jean Grey", the second billed role in the film. Our previous actress, known best as Princess Jess, had to drop out at the last minute because of personal issues. Furthermore, the Jean character shares vital scenes with the cyclops character. Our present cyclops Jym Pagel's scenes were intended to be wrapped up by summer's end, at which point he will be relocating out of state. This means of course that it is probable enough that we will have to also recast that role.

Beyond that things are running okay. There's currently an excellant buzz on our project, both on the street and professionally. As a matter of fact we have some major film-makers keeping on eye on this. Sorry, but I can't presently mention any names. There's rumor of an interesting cameo or two, also unmentionable (so don't ask!). You may be surprised.

- Cadaver Jack, Director

If you or someone you know may be interested in portraying Jean Grey, drop us message on myspace or email loganmovie@yahoo.com. The actress should be between the ages of 18 and 25, willing to dye hair dramatic red, 5'5"-5'11" tall, and caucasian. Green eyes work best but are not required.

This is a non-profit, passion project. All acting in this film is on a volunteer basis. However, this movie has been generating plenty of buzz, and may offer desirable exposure to aspiring actors.

Welcome

Aug. 2nd, 2006 | 04:36 pm

Thanks for taking the time to read up on our production. This is the first entry in what we hope will be a satisfactory resource for those who would like to follow our progress with this project.

Firstly, if you don't know what this project is, it is first and foremost a passion project. It is an independantly made Wolverine fan-film. And it's going to be like no other.

We're going in an entirely new direction with this charactor. Our hope is that after watching this film it will have been as insightful as it was awesome. If you aren't very familiar with Wolverine, you will surely get to know him in watching "Logan". We are exploring every depth of this charactor, and we are bringing you one of many stories left untold.

Most of you are familiar with Logan the heroe, Logan the anti-heroe, Logan the renegade, Logan the animal, Logan the X-Man... We're going to show you Logan the man.

All that said, Thank you for the support and enjoy,
Cadaver Jack - Director
